I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts at the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2009.
I made both vessels and sculptures during my time there, but I ultimately displayed these totem-like sculptures for my thesis show.
Theses works stand between about three and four feet tall. Each section was thrown on the wheel with porcelaneous white stoneware which were then stacked, painted with a high-colorant clay slip, and carved. The surface was finished with an offset glaze design and fired in a gas kiln to cone ten.
